Using Insurance
for Therapy Services

Finding the right counselor is hard enough; figuring out the payment side should not add more stress. We work with many insurance plans, and we are happy to help you understand how your benefits apply to therapy.

Most plans cover outpatient mental health services, but coverage can vary by provider, plan type, and deductible. If you plan to use insurance, we recommend checking your mental health benefits before your first visit. We can also verify benefits when possible, so you know what to expect.

Common questions to ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have outpatient mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is my copay or coinsurance for therapy?

  • Do I need a referral or pre-authorization?

  • Is telehealth covered (if applicable)?

Prefer not to use insurance, or have a plan we do not accept? Private pay is always an option. If we are out-of-network with your plan, we may be able to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement, depending on your benefits.

Your cost per session may include a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Copays and self pay fees are due at the time of service. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer that time to someone else.
